TOTALENERGIES EP UGANDA LAUNCHES FREE MASSIVE OPEN ONLINE COURSE TO IDENTIFY, TRAIN AND RECRUIT OVER 120 UGANDANS FOR THE TILENGA PROJECT

The successful beneficiaries will be trained over the 2.5 years to become production operators, maintenance, and inspection technicians for the Tilenga project. The training will be undertaken in partnership with the Uganda Petroleum Institute Kigumba (UPIK) followed by international training exposure at a TotalEnergies producing site.

TotalEnergies EP Uganda’s A’Level sponsored students have excelled in the 2020 UACE exams whose results were announced on 20th August 2021 by the Minister of Education and sports, Hon Janet Museveni. The students who were sponsored as part of the Company’s education program targeting brilliant scholars from the districts within the Tilenga project attained excellent grades that will enable them to pursue further studies in higher institutions of learning.

The minister also made a stopover at the Kasemene-1 where she inspected the Bitutainers containing crude oil from well testing carried out during the exploration & appraisal phase. To conclude her tour to the Tilenga project site, the Minister thanked Total Energies for its continued support to Uganda’s Oil and Gas sector despite the numerous challenges to include the drop in global oil prices and the COVID- 19 pandemic’s impact on business operations worldwide.
