TOTALENERGIES EP UGANDA HOSTS EU DELEGATION AT TILENGA PROJECT SITES

FEBRUARY 03, 2023: TotalEnergies EP Uganda (TEPU) hosted a delegation from the European Union (EU) at the Tilenga Project site in the Albertine Graben. The delegation was received by Jean Gavalda – Business Development and Corporate Affairs Director TEPU, and Mary Begg-Saffar, the Director Non-Government Organisation (NGOs), and Human Rights at TEPU.  The ten (10) team delegation was led by Guillaume Chartrain Deputy Head of Delegation and Head of Political, Press & Information.

SITES VISITED

The delegation visited Ngiri 03 restored exploration site in Kirama, Gunya 01 well-pad, which is one of the well pads being prepared for Uganda’s first oil come 2025 and the Tilenga Project Industrial Area, where the Central Processing Facility (CPF) is being established.

Additionally, they interacted with some of the Project Affected Persons (PAPs) in Kisomere and Kijumbia villages including Ezekiel, who took them around his cassava plantation, and shared some of the benefits he has acquired from the project. The EU delegation also met with Emily, at her resettlement house that was recently handed over by TEPU.
