Total partners to promote investment in Uganda’s oil and gas sector
On Monday 20 June 2016, Total Group and Total E&P Uganda joined over 500 energy professional and business leaders at the annual Oil and Gas Council Africa Energy Assembly held in London, United Kingdom.
The two-day event was aimed at bringing together companies and individuals working in the energy industry for purposes of business expansion and peer networking. In partnership with the Ministry of Energy through the Petroleum Exploration, Development and Production Department, the Joint Venture Partners, Total E&P Uganda, Tullow oil and CNOOC set up an exhibition stand to promote the Uganda project including the crude oil export pipeline and refinery.
While giving his presentation on Uganda, PEDPD Director, Ernest Rubondo said, "Uganda provides a very conducive social and political investment climate with a well regulated and liberalised economy offering investment opportunities in all sectors and free movement of capital to and from the country."
Total's delegation was led by Vice President E&P for Eastern Africa, Javier Rielo and included: Secretary General Total E&P Africa, Abiodun Afolabi; Vice President Country Delegate Uganda, Emmanuel Nahas; Integrated Project Manager, Martin Tiffen and Communications Officer, Linda Nabirye. Representatives from the government were led by Director PEDPD, Ernest Rubondo and included; Fred Kabanda, Dozith Abeinomugisha and Phiona Naturinda.
