That is why the company has committed to implementing a robust action plan that aims to thoroughly address impacts and at the end can produce positive outcomes for biodiversity and people as part of the project’s execution. These measures aim to address significant threats such as supporting Uganda Wildlife Authority in their efforts to address poaching within Murchison Falls with the aim of reintroducing the black rhinoceros to Uganda. We will also be working with organizations and the National Forestry Authority to promote alternative livelihoods in an effort to protect and restore key forest areas which are home to chimpanzees. These measures amongst others are all part of a long-term program designed to enhance biodiversity and livelihoods over the lifecycle of the development and beyond.
